Do you know this man??
Back before Detroit brought you the White Stripes, the Sights, the Dirtbombs and scads of other rockers, they

birthed The Licorice Tree, circa 1967. They did rad covers of the MC5 and SRC (great psych band of the day), and gave the Vanilla Fudge “You Keep Me Hangin On” slow down treatment to the Yardbird’s “For Your Love”. They blew the pants off of The Marshmallow Fox at a battle of the bands, at a drive-in in Ypsilanti.
This man is Larry Kelly, a close family member of the Licorice Tree Records Empire, and lead singer/crazed tambourinist of The Licorice Tree.
